Job #010 - English Charm
There is something charming about homes in a well-established neighborhood. The owners came to us in need of a complete new back yard to complement their home. We delivered yet another masterpiece.
Rock outcroppings are blended into the landscape and masonry walls. Multiple elevations of decking and planters provide comfortable seating and define points of interest in the yard.
You'll think you've stepped into the Garden of Eden when surrounded by the lush planting, sound of rushing water, and the fresh scent of rosemary and gardenias.
Waterfalls
The sound of rushing water is one of nature's most enjoyed gifts - one that can now be enjoyed at any time by the owners of this project.
This granite-colored waterfall is the centerpiece of the yard. We constructed a very natural-looking and detailed rock formation by utilizing GFRC rock panels. The water flows from a center source and falls a total of four times before reaching the pond below. The 24" deep pond is just the right size without being a maintenance issue.
At night, the pond and waterfall are lit by underwater lighting fixtures. The water takes on a soft glow and illuminates the rock around it.
Yards
There are numerous colors and textures in this yard. Flagstone can be found in the elevated planters and the stamped concrete decking. Recreated brick caps off all of the planter walls, patio piers, and steps. Recreated rocks and boulders were placed throughout the yard and provide mass in key areas to balance the yard.
Few things are more beautiful than an elegant landscape with the right lighting. Over 35 lighting fixtures were carefully designed and installed to be stunning yet functional.
Patio area
Loaded with fragrant landscaping, the long stone and brick planter next to the home is a perfect spot to sit and enjoy the yard.
Pygmy date palms in terracotta urns sit atop piers and soften the vertical space at the patio. The palms are watered by drip irrigation lines that run through the piers - no tubing is visible.
The shaded patio decking is elevated 12" over the rest of the yard and provides ample room to set up tables for entertaining.
